Assessment tool

Version 1.0
Issue Date: May 2024

This unit of competency defines the skills and knowledge required to disconnect and reconnect equipment to all voltage levels up to1000 volts a.c./1500 volts d.c.

Where the selection and use of power tools/hand held operations is required unit MEM18002 Use power tools/hand held operations should also be selected.

Some jurisdictions may require the holder of this unit to be licensed or certified and users should check with the relevant authorities.

Band:

This unit has dual status and is to be regarded as both a specialisation Band A unit and Specialisation Band B unit for progression to C7 (AQF level IV).

Unit Weight: 3

You may want to include more information here about the target group and the purpose of the assessments (eg formative, summative, recognition)

Submission Requirements

List each assessment task's title, type (eg project, observation/demonstration, essay, assingnment, checklist) and due date here

(add new lines for each of the assessment tasks)

Assessment Tasks

Copy and paste from the following data to produce each assessment task. Write these in plain English and spell out how, when and where the task is to be carried out, under what conditions, and what resources are needed. Include guidelines about how well the candidate has to perform a task for it to be judged satisfactory.

This field allows for different work environments and conditions that may affect performance. Essential operating conditions that may be present (depending on the work situation, needs of the candidate, accessibility of the item, and local industry and regional contexts) are included.

Equipment includes:

as defined in the licensing requirements, including electric motors, modular sensing switches and limit switches

Electrical isolation includes:

safe disconnection of all electrical power to equipment or equipment supply circuits via switching, circuit breakers or fuses on circuits/equipment using up to 1000 volts a.c. or 1500 volts d.c. single or multi-phase supply

Test equipment and tools include one (1) or more of the following:

voltmeters

multimeters

tong testers

Connect equipment includes:

reconnection of existing equipment or the replacement on a 'like for like' basis with no alteration to existing fixed wiring and also includes the original connection of fixed wired equipment

Copy and paste from the following performance criteria to create an observation checklist for each task. When you have finished writing your assessment tool every one of these must have been addressed, preferably several times in a variety of contexts. To ensure this occurs download the assessment matrix for the unit; enter each assessment task as a column header and place check marks against each performance criteria that task addresses.
